Key Worker Provision

Key Worker Provision

Following the Prime Minister's announcement on the 4th January 2021, only children of critical workers and vulnerable children and young people should attend school if they are unable to stay at home.  All other pupils and students will receive remote education.

If both parents are critical workers (criteria applied), your child has a social worker or your children has an EHCP you can apply for a place in school.  If you think you may qualify please contact

How does a typical day look?

The Key Worker provision will be slightly different to our previous provision due to the number of children who will be attending.  A typical day will consist of your child completing the learning set by their class teacher on SeeSaw which follows the National Curriculum.  There will also be a range of other activities such as PE, art and themed learning each day.

We have created three Key Worker bubbles consisting of:

  • Reception and Year1
  • Year 2 and Year 3
  • Upper Key Stage 2
Children from each of the three bubbles will not mix with other children in school at all, the bubbles will be kept separate at all times including break and lunch times.
Drop Off and Collection Arrangements

The drop off time for the Key Worker children will be 8.45am and collection at 3.10pm.  Please note that these times cannot be changed and must be strictly adhered to.

  •        Reception / Y1 – enter through the KS1 gate by the car park
  •        Year 2 / Y3 – enter via the main school entrance
  •        Upper Key Stage 2 – enter via the KS2 gate

Please do not arrive on site more than 5 minutes before drop off and go immediately to your allocated entrance where we would politely request that you line up, socially distanced from other families and that your children remain with you at all times.  Please do not allow the children to run around whilst waiting to enter the building.

Car Parking

The car park remains in use for Reception – Year 3 only.  Upper Key Stage 2 parents please continue to park off site.  Please do not gather with other parents anywhere on the school site, including at the car park, school gates and outside the main door.  Please also remember that only one adult may drop off / collect a child each day.

For children in Reception – Year 2 a school lunch will be provided free of charge as normal, children in Year 3 upwards may also have a school lunch at a cost of £2.20 per day or bring a packed lunch.  In order to ensure we are able to give the kitchen the correct numbers for meals, children will be unable to change between these options.

Can I please take this opportunity to remind you that if your child brings a packed lunch, the school rules regarding packed lunches apply; including only one biscuit OR cake, no chocolate bars or fizzy pop to drink.  Please also note due to possible allergies that the children are NOT permitted to have NUTS or CHOCOLATE SPREAD in their packed lunch.

Uniform and Clothing

Children are not permitted to bring anything from home into school other than their coat (no bags or toys) and their packed lunch and water bottle.  Children are not required to wear school uniform but must come to school suitably dressed, especially for increased outdoor learning opportunities and the inclement weather.

Absence & Illness

Should your child be or need to be absent on one of their allocated days please ensure that you contact the school office on 0191 267 4510 or to inform us of their absence.

If your child or anyone in the household is displaying symptoms of COVID 19 they must NOT attend school, they must be tested and you must inform us immediately.  If your child is identified as a close contact of a positive COVID case they must NOT attend school and must isolate for 10 days.

Please be aware that our current COVID Home School Agreement remains in place and should your child not be able to manage their behaviour safely then they will be unable to continue to attend the Key Worker provision.
